“As the representative for Eagle Rock on the Metro Board of Directors, I would like to thank our community stakeholders for working together to develop the ‘Beautiful Boulevard’ alternative proposal for Metro’s North Hollywood-Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit Project. This proposal preserves many of the features that residents and business owners cherish along Colorado Boulevard while providing sorely-needed high quality transit and active transportation opportunities in Northeast Los Angeles. I am in full support of Metro staff studying the ‘Beautiful Boulevard’ concept and bringing it before the Metro Board of Directors for consideration if deemed feasible and within budget.”
“I write to communicate my support for the “Beautiful Boulevard” proposal put forth by Eagle Rock parents and community members for the North Hollywood-Pasadena BRT project, which would provide high quality transit service to and from the Eagle Rock community, while improving roadway safety for students, families, and teachers traveling on and across Colorado Boulevard. This project will help provide important transit access to four Eagle Rock-area LAUSD schools as well as other non-LAUSD pre-K and primary schools. I urge Metro to study this proposal in full, and adopt it as Metro’s proposed alignment alternative within Eagle Rock in order to prioritize the safety of LAUSD’s students, teachers, staff, and families.”
“Since first presenting their Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for Metro’s North Hollywood-Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit Project, in Fall 2020, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has sought and incorporated community feedback into their design proposal. The resulting Refined F1 proposal as presented in March and April of 2021 demonstrates a commitment to ensure safety, convenience, and reliability, while preserving the greenery and trees in the medians that improve every visitor’s experience and every resident’s quality of life. I support bringing both high-quality transit service to Colorado Boulevard, and keeping it beautiful for pedestrians, bicyclists, and community members. I encourage Metro to adopt the community-led Beautiful Boulevard proposal as it moves forward with its final, preferred design for the portion of the NoHo-Pasadena corridor through Eagle Rock.”
“This proposal successfully adds much needed safety upgrades, while also improving how we move through our community. The plan also retains our beautiful medians, which provide a natural shade canopy in an area where summer temperatures will continue to become more and more extreme in the coming decades.
